Handling of end product paper and cardboard rolls is demanding work. Combining high material handling efficiency with avoidance of handling marks requires special lifting tools and careful crane driving.

ICRAS load sway control is used to improve cardboard roll handling at Enso mill in Kaukopää, Finland. The crane trolley and bridge speed is controlled with VACON ICRAS AC frequency inverters which have the ICRAS load sway control built in. The crane has two complete control places, cabin and radio remote controller.

ICRAS makes crane operation easy to learn and minimizes the handling marks caused by load sway. Fork lift drivers can easily operate the crane with the help of ICRAS. In radio control the crane is almost impossible to operate without the assistance of ICRAS.
