SSAB Oxelösund AB, Swedish Producer of WELDOX Extra High Strength structural steel plate suitable for lighter and stronger crane structures ordered ICRAS load sway control to their new 11+11 ton magnet boomcrane.

The crane was build by Konecranes and it was commissioned on August 1997. The crane drives are DynacACinverters of Konecranes. ICRAS load sway control is using GE Fanuc PLC hardware and ICRAS coprocessor module. The crane is remote controlled. ICRAS operates with both main and auxiliary hoists.

"We have high demands on availability, precision and efficiency in our line for plasma cutting. With ICRAS load sway control system we are able to minimize our cycle time for plate handling, which improves our productivity" says Per Ahl, the manager of plate finishing department. "We also appreciate that ICRAS load sway control makes the crane easy to operate".
